OUR STORY
Our founding pastor, Rod Aguillard came to the River Region in 1970 and started pastoring a Baptist mission in the small Catholic community of Reserve, LA. It was the day of small beginnings. The congregation totaled about 35 people, including children. From 1970 to 1974, by the grace of God, we grew to about 130 members. We met in an 1800 sq. ft. sanctuary on two acres of land.
Then God came suddenly! The baptism of the Holy Spirit fell and about 100 of the Baptist members departed, leaving us with another day of small beginnings. From 1974 to 1975, we struggled but we survived, and began to experience the outpouring of the Charismatic Renewal. In 1976, we built a 4300 sq. ft. building that would seat approximately 350. Small groups were started in that same year and over the next five years we had continual growth that enabled us to buy 14 acres of land on Airline Highway. At that site we built a 22,000 sq. ft. building to house a sanctuary and a Christian School. The new sanctuary was completed in 1982, seating 743.
In March of 2009 we moved into our new 42,000 sq. ft. sanctuary that seats 1300 people. Our thirty-nine acre campus includes a Christian school serving students from grades K-4 through the 6th grade and a full-time daycare center.
